The Environment Group meets weekly or fortnightly at lunchtime to discuss and get involved in activities relating to both the school and wider environment.
Within the school, responsibilities of the Group include maintaining the worm farms, the vegetable garden and the paper recycling boxes, bagging cartridges for collection, ensuring lights, computers, fans and heaters are turned off when not in use and generally encouraging energy efficiency, recycling and water-wise behaviour within the school.
Members also get the opportunity to be involved in Tree Day plantings, leadership training and competitions with an environmental theme and letter writing regarding national or global environmental issues. Simple fun activities include making recycled paper and environmental message badges. Students from all years are welcome in the Environment Group.
